The Pamplemousse Project Spider Pryor-Williams Chris Smith Harborne Born across a restaurant tabletop in Paris, the Pamplemousse Project is the partnership of UK based producers Spider Pryor-Williams and Chris Smith. Layering soft, brooding melodies over tempered percussion, the Pamplemousse Project is an educated blend of traditional musicianship and electronica. From the haunting ensemble of ‘Serendipity’, to the prominent keys and strings of ‘Nemesis Part 1’, a new sound has been created. A collaboration that describes the yearning soundtrack of modern life. Spider Pryor-Williams first produced under the name ‘Aranjah’ with releases on Toolroom Records and Groovedigital. Having started out working for Ministry of Sound in 1999, Spider moved away from House Music to concentrate on more live based productions under his own Portvocatus label. In 2004 he met local producer Chris Smith and began collaborating as the Pamplemousse Project. Smith had previously released the ‘Whatever Reason EP’ on Portvocatus, under his ‘Chris I Am’ moniker. The Pamplemousse Project EP presents four tracks from the debut album; Horizon, Serendipity, Nemesis Part 1 (Elevated Cycle) & Nemesis Part 2 (Deep Cycle).
