that.leah Leah Gordon Nürnberg With a nearly four octave range, Leah is a singer of true versatility. She had her first success in the genre of musical-theater at the age of 16 with her appearance on the Canadian-wide televised talent show HOMEGROWN CAFE winning her the Grand Prize. Leah made her european debut at the age of 24 in the role of LA FOLIE in Rameau's Platée at the Musiktheater im Revier in Gelsenkirchen, Germany. She has performed over 35 roles on the professional operatic stage including KONSTANZE, DONNA ANNA, PAMINA, MICAELA, MUSETTA and the title-roles in Donizetti's EMILIA DI LIVERPOOL and LA FILLE DE RÉGIMENT. Leah has created a number of solo programs that connect her love of theatrics with the traditional recital format, such as her program entitled CLASSIC REMIX which challenges the strength of classical composition through variations on works by Hugo Wolf, Poulenc and Puccini, arranged for jazz trio. The similarities between English early music and the contemporary American songbook are explored in her program ENGLISH BREAKFAST WITH AMERICAN PIE, and STORIES OF LIFE AND LOVE features William Bolcom's "Cabaret Songs" and works from contemporary musical-theater composers such as Adam Guettel, John Bucchino and Adam Gwon.
