TeshayMakeda Teshay Makeda London With the meaning ‘Queen of the sun’ Teshay Makeda Is a singer/songwriter. Teshay Makeda was born in south London and raised in a Rastafarian household. Her upbringing has also influenced her styles in music which have elements of reggae, roots, soul, Grime, to name a few. At the age of seven, she started doing showcases with The Twelve Tribes of Israel and joined the school choir. At the age of ten, she joined Vocal Zones Productions where she was vocally trained amongst other things which really improved her performance ability. These foundations have moulded her into the artist that she is today. In 2017 she brought out a demo/ep on the underground which lead her perform at Lambeth country show opening for Christopher Ellis, the late Michael Prophet, Queen Omega and Bugle. Also when the legendary Freddie Mcgreggor received his lifetime achievement award at the prestigious Boisdale she open with an acoustic band chanting ‘The Lion Of Judah’ along with some of her favourite songs and a PA set. Alongside the phenomenal African Headcharge Iyabinghi Noah Invited Her to perform at the Rototom Sunsplash Festival opening for the likes of Chronixx and Alpha Blondy. Also performed at the one Love Festival with the Pioneer sound system Saxon. Currently she is working on new material which will be released in 2018.
