At the age of three he was taught musical standards by his parents. By the age of 5 he started memorizing title and artist and by the age of 8 could identify most songs within the first 2 bars. Growing up in the New York area in the 1980’s with two older siblings he was exposed to much the early 80’s dance culture of NYC. With such a varying array of artists such as Hall & Oates, Madonna, Janet & Michael Jackson, Herbie Hancock and Journey molding his taste for music. Jacques Cousteau really fell in love with music with feeling and soul. In the 90’s he lived in New England and spent all of his free time frequenting record shops and listening to everything and anything he could hear. After watching his brother make mixtapes during his high school and college days. Jacques Cousteau started making mix tapes for his high school girl friend. Understanding what kind of music people like and how they respond to certain kinds of music grew this moment forward. In 1994 he got his first taste of djing and by 1998 played his first public gig in Jerusalem at a tiny club called the Arizona. After returning to the states in 1998 and seeing multiple live acts overseas such as The Prodigy, Juno Reactor, Orbital and State 808. Jacques Cousteau immersed himself in the Club scene of NYC. Being a regular at such clubs in the NYC’s Tunnel, Twilo, Exit, Limelight and Centro Fly. Also in College Jacques Cousteau became friends with and later the first Manager of the group Street lab. After permanently moving to NYC 02 to attend Queens College. He stepped up his dj game. Spending all his time and money inside the best niche record stores in the Village of NYC. He emerged with a new style Electronic music with feeling, rhythm and soul. In 2004 Jacques Graduated from Queens College with a degree in media criticism, Audio Engineering and Film Direction and 6 years’ experience working in college and commercial radio as an on air dj and music director for WDCC, WQCC and WPDH. He eventually moved to Los Angeles and became a regular in the Los Angeles Club scene and go back into Djing and Producing in 2010 as the third wave of Electronic music swept the country in Full Force in 2014 to play his favorite club Exchange Los Angeles Los Angeles #1 rated club. Now with a full show and translucent disco material visual trade mark suit which is an homage NYC’s Famed Limelight Angel Disco ball.
