From Calgary Alberta Canada, Dizzy has always had an interest in music. From an early age he would sing along with his favorite movies and songs on the radio. Naturally, as he got older his taste in music matured with him and by junior high he had honed his voice and learned to play guitar. It was when he heard Tupac’s “California Love” for the first time, however, that he fell in love with hip hop. Over the years he branched out to find inspiration in other artists like Nas, T.I., J.Cole, Eminem, Bone Thugs N Harmony, Dr. Dre, and many more. It wasn’t until he reached the age of 17, however, that he started writing his own rhymes. What started off as a hobby soon became an obsession… and Dizzy was born.
Feeling unable to pursue his passion with any success at home, Dizzy moved to Edmonton, Alberta where he hooked up with fellow rap hopeful Boogie (aka Chris Brownlow). Dizzy and Boogie worked on countless tracks together under the name Royalties. They performed in Edmonton many times with local artists from the same genre but always felt that the sound they produced was distinct and unique.
After three years, two mixtapes and countless shows together, Royalties disbanded. Dizzy, however, decided to continue to pursue his dream of making music, although he felt unsure of his ability to go it alone. He managed to make two trips to Canadian hip hop mecca Toronto, Ontario to work with former Sony BMG recording artist Esthero’s touring MC, Oz. While there, he impressed Oz with his creativity and ability to turn out full-length songs in short periods of time.
With a new found sense of confidence in his capabilities he headed back to Edmonton and began working on what would become the foundation for his first solo EP G5 Dreams. Using producers such as White Hot Productions, Royal Audio, Diamondstyle Productions and Anno Domini Beats he quickly compiled a solid list of singles to put towards G5 Dreams.
Dizzy quickly landed several opening spots for major-labeled artists performing in Edmonton including Juvenile, Joe Budden, M.I.M.S, D12, Common, Bone Thugs N Harmony, MGK, E40, and more.
After releasing two videos off G5 Dreams, Dizzy immediately started working on his first solo mixtape In The Meantime. After dropping In The Meantime, along came the Bone Thugs N Harmony tour that took Dizzy and his sound from one coast to the other.
Inspired by all that was going on with his music, he began laying the groundwork for what would become his first full-length album You Feelin Dizzy Yet?. He acquired talents such as Ace Hood, Krayzie Bone, and Kevin Cossom to assist with the singles off of the project.
With the album complete, the first single coming out on the next DJ Noize mixtape, and a list of possible tours coming up…its best you take a seat… You’re about to be feelin’ Dizzy.
