T.D. Shagga: Through his psychoactive Somatica events, Shaggy played a key role in cultivating Melbourne's underground electronic scene over the past 10 years and has been a fixture in the dj community for over a decade, during which time he has proven himself as one of the more adaptable and original DJs around. Not content embracing one particular genre, throughout his years collecting music he is continually re-inspired by a myriad of deviating styles including beefy breakbeats, old school funk, low slung drum & bass, Dirty ElectroTek & Rump Shaking Ghettofunk.
With early exposure as a co -founder of monthly club nights - Squidge & Wobble, Shagga quickly found his niche in the Melbourne scene, and has since appeared at many of the major outdoor festivals around Australia, such as Splendour In The Grass Festival (NNSW), Total Eclipse 2012 (FNQ), Rainbow Serpent Festival (VIC), Earthcore (VIC), Bushweek (FNQ), Cairns Winter Solstice (FNQ), Wide Open Spaces (NT), Earth Frequency Festival (QLD), Manifest (QLD), Tribeadelic (VIC), Deliverance (NNSW), Superfreak & Freakreation (NNSW), Audiogasm FNQ), Twin Tribes (TAS) Royal Doof (VIC) & Maitreya (VIC) as well as countless other gigs up & down the Aus east coast.
T.D. Shagga has been billed alongside international heavyweights the likes of Ill Gates, Dov, Love & Light, SPL, Mr Rogers, Dub FX, Kasra, Sabre, Boarderline, Opiuo, Shift, Artifakt, Damage, Texas Faggott, Loopus In Fabula, Monster Zoku Onsomb, Nam Shub of Enki, Krumelur, Tetrameth, Sensient, Grouch, suncontrolspecies, Infected Mushroom, Antix, PropaTingz, Jahbo, Atmos, Logic Bomb, Reefer Decree, Flying Lotus & Tipper among many more..
He has also taken his sound internationally, being toured to Malaysia to headline Mutiny at Club VIVA in 2004, played at numerous parties in Goa in 2005 and some crazy beach parties in Southern Thailand. He's also appeared at Beats by the Bay 2008 in San Francisco and in 2011 closed Terrakroma crews' 'Eternal Grooves of a Swampish Mind' warehouse party in Los Angeles.
Shaggy now resides in sunny Brisvegas, likes to think he's semi-retired and wishes he was an African American living in New York in the 70's.
