We will specifically explore the continuum of wellness in terms of optimal glucose levels for wellness versus the diagnosis of diabetes. We will discuss symptoms that may indicate a system out of balance to assist in identifying patients that may be at risk of diabetes due to insulin resistance. We will review the concept of mindfulness in encouraging patients to become aware of the physical sensations that might signal insulin resistance. 3 OBJECTIVES Define concept of wellness and discuss concepts of diabetes, insulin resistance and optimal glucose levels for our body.
