Tah better known by his stage name Tah Money, is an American rapper and songwriter. He was born February 17 at Long Island College Hospital in the Bedford-Stuyvesant area of Brooklyn, NY. Tah’s father, Tyrone Bailey Sr., was shot to death when Tah was only 4 years old. That tragedy left Tah’s mother, Angela Lesane, devastated, leaving her all alone to raise Tah in a drug-infested neighborhood.
"I was too young to understand what death was at the time,” says Tah-Money, “but I knew my dad wasn't coming back."
Tah’s uncles, Steven and Jimmy, became Tah’s father figures. Steven was into rapping and Tah became his No. 1 fan. But in 1994, tragedy struck again, when Steven was pronounced dead at St. Mary's Hospital in Brooklyn, NY. Steven’s untimely death was due to a disagreement over a dice game. 3 years later, Angela packed up everything, and she and Tah moved out of harms’ way to Huntington, NY.
In no time, Tah made his mark on the football field and in many different areas. But as the years went by, friends became enemies, and the love shared amongst brothers revolved into hate. Huntington became divided. South Side (SSP) and Station (OSS). Trapped between a rock and hard place, Tah had to choose a side.
"It wasn't that my hand was forced,” says Tah Money. “It was more like, if you’re not with us, then you’re with them. That type of thing."
Death or imprisonment loomed over Tah’s decision, but it was his Uncle Steven’s untimely death that deterred Tah from putting himself into harms’ way. Tah decided to continue in his Uncle Steven’s footsteps, and pursued a career as an MC. In 2009, Tah was blessed with his son, Jeremiah TahQuan Bailey, and since then, Tah has been on his grind to accomplish his musical goals. He linked up with Zangba Thomson, CEO of Bong Mines Entertainment LLC, and is now the fourth member of Flee Boy Academy.
