Hailing from the troubled streets of Washington, D.C. comes the next phenomenon in the consistently evolving and changing hip hop game. #Monstar, known as T-Dog on the streets as well as in the rap game, is drumming up waves of interest through out the music community while representing the latest surge of rappers in his hometown( DC's) rap scene. Drawing from considerable experience on the streets as well as in the U.S. military. T-Dog is launching a budding empire in the industry with his own label Monstar Records.
While working to bridge the gap between highly profitable success and life on the streets, T-Dog slowly became as impressive, relatable artist with the diversity list of life experiences . Growing up in the Trinidad neighborhood in N.E. DC., he found himself immersed in drug dealing and other criminal activity to support his family at the early age of 13 years old. Following multiple arrests and tragically losing friends to violence and prison, he enlisted the U.S.Military, which sparked a burning inspiration to write, create, and rap.
Drawing from personal reflection and experiences on the streets and during the war in Iraq, this budding hip hop star possess an incredible pool of personal knowledge for song writing. Using this as an invaluable resource,T-Dog combines his musical influences such as Tupac, 50cent Scareface, and Master P to generate a blend of gritty rap which excites and invigorates the listeners. Utilizing music as a vehicle to keep himself motivated and on the right side of the tracks, T-Dog continues to build a library of songs, music videos, and performances. After breaking ground on Monstar Records in January, the aspiring artist released his full length album entitled "Official" Blowing Up, which quickly found its way into digital catalogs such as Amazon, Itunes, Rapsody, etc. A sreies of five video's were recorded in support of the album. In which 2 of the video's were featured on hip hops prominent website World Star hip Hop .com. T-Dog blessed the stage of the T.V. show the DC Cypher after which the host said'," This is probably the best show we have ever had on the Cypher'". T-Dog was featured this year on Rick Ross's mixtape Audio Dope in January 2011 and featured on Mims and Wiz Khalifa's mixtape in February 2011. T-Dog had the opportunity to Open up for the group Young Money/Cash Money , Bun B, as well as French Montana. with more shows in the works and a constantly growing catalog of fresh beats and rhymes, T-Dog is spreading like wild fire throughout the DC, Maryland, and Virginia "DMV" and setting his sites on larger markets across the country. His singles" Bad Chick and party all the Timeare played in regular rotation on the Beat 1650am and 92Q Fm.
