Sysex (Harry Koumpakis), born in Athens, Greece, grew up in a music family paying attention from a very early age to music history, theory and instrument construction. He become interested to djing in the age of 14 and in age of 16 was starting imaging himself that music can be more than a hobby, it can be his profession, his future, his reason of existence...
His curiosity to music was so intense to become very quick an eternal passion and after he bought his first dj equipment, started spinning vinyl records to school parties, local bars and pirate radio stations; testing his potential of how far he can go, exercising and improving his dj skills.
In 1995 he leaves Greece for UK to study Computing science in Greenwich University and later Music production and Recording Arts in Middlesex University, London. As a student was selected from the dj community as a resident where played next UK's top djs such as Sister Bliss (Faithless), Sasha, Pete Tong and Judge Jules.
As the time was passing Sysex's love for music was opening new horizons and new creative paths - in 2000 he was offered a job slot as an Tech-house editor as part of UK's Mixmag talented team, which he accepted and gave him the opportunity to enrich and widen his vision in the music industry.
In 2005 he returns back to Greece and in a very short period of time he got the attention of Blend's owner Lorenzo who selected him as a part of Blend's resident roster in 2007 to date. He has performed next to some of the top international djs and producers from around the world such as Paul Kalkbrenner, Adam Beyer, Paco Osuna, Guy Gerber, Ilario Licante, Bella Sarris, tINI, Hector Couto, Leon (Italy), Terry Francis, Timewriter, Nathan Coles amongst others...
His latest performance took place this summer - at one of the top rated clubs in the world and Greece's finest super club Cavo Paradiso, for a forth season in a row, with Paul Ritch and Marc Antona.
Production-wise, Sysex had always believed that focusing in continuous studying, learning, experimenting and hard work is the key to music production and quality track releases. His low profile, patience and endless studio hours along with continuous developing and improving his producer skills, leaded in his first quality release in 2014 remixing Achilles Ganshof's single "The Rite" on WTF! Music with great success. One year later, in 2015, he is about to release his first Tech-house single "Estoy Libre" including remixes from Fabric's resident, the legendary Terry Francis plus two remixes from Greece's techno master Mikee (Athens) and Tech1ne – talented and promising Tech-house Greek artist.
Focusing in his Blend residency, Sysex is continuing his music journey as an artist working hard on his next record release coming up till the end of 2016 with a personal three track EP,
