Upstate New York

Synesthete (pronounced sin-is-theet) is the moniker of Upstate New York musician Dan Dellecese. Influenced by artists such as Tycho, Com Truise, CHVRCHES, The New Division, Adam Young, M83, and many more, as well as the audio/visual synesthesia experience as a real-life synesthete, he combines elements of alternative, electronic, synthpop, shoegaze, synthwave, ambient post-rock, and more.   His debut EP, This Space Is Statically Assigned released on August 1, 2017 and included two singles- "Weekender" and "Highrise". The EP was referred to as "the best CHVRCHES EP that they didn’t write" by music website Echosynthetic.net.   "Eclipse", a collaboration with vocalist Christina Rotondo followed in February 2018.   His first full-length album "Episodic Memory" released on June 26th, 2018. Inspired by his then 2-year-old son and written as the soundtrack to the late days of summer, the album paints a picture of warm, nostalgic memories. BVSMV described the debut as an "album washed in a sepia-toned haze of an old reel to reel film" and the "work of an artist putting their heart and soul into relaying the emotions and feelings of their life for the listener, succeeding 100%." Echosynthetic.net describes the listening experience as "being a part of memories you didn't know you were a part of" and "the most positively uplifting album I've heard all year".   Synesthete has remixed songs for Ryan Farish, LGHTNNG, Trade Secrets, The New Division, & more. He is currently working on his second full-length album, while releasing monthly singles and EPs.
