LX Design: Evidence-Based Learning Solutions - SXSWedu 2013 by SXSWedu published on 2013-03-05T19:43:48Z Drawing on research from fields such as informatics, human factors, cognitive psychology, and human computer interaction, the learning sciences are interdisciplinary and explore how learning is manifested, demonstrated, and measured. One aspect of learning science is learner experience (LX) design, which is both rooted in and relies upon evidence. This panel of researchers and scientists discusses how they triangulate multi-point data — such as neural activity, eye-tracking, respiratory patterns, and learning analytics — to inform next generation learning experiences. In particular, they explore how LX design and evaluation are influenced by data-drive decision making and, in turn, influence other emerging learning experiences, such as adaptive, social, and open-source. The panel will also introduce aspects of evidence-based LX design that can readily be incorporated into product design processes and inform audience members’ own evidence collection, analysis, and reporting.
