Crowdlearning: A Vision for the [Near] Future of Education - SXSWedu 2013 by SXSWedu published on 2013-03-07T19:28:04Z For decades, people have argued that technology has the potential to transform education. Until now, this has been little more than talk. With the convergence of technologies that enable interactive learning and hyper-personalization, this is becoming our reality. A new generation of tools evaluates the strengths and weaknesses of each student in real time and adjust, delivering personalized, one-on-one instruction to all students, not just the 1%. This about the extension, not the extinction, of the classroom. These tools follow and measure every aspect of the learning process, noting where students are struggling, what tools work best and exactly what’s needed for success. These tools are also advanced enough to self-correct, constantly gathering information on their own effectiveness and improving with each new data point. In this talk, Patrick will explain what crowdlearning is and how it is transforming education — not in some distant future, but right now.
