Uncle Luc 'Plateaux' by Super Fan 99 Records published on 2018-01-09T16:26:32Z 70S STYLED BRITISH POWERPOP. UNCLE LUC UNLEASHES ‘PLATEAUX’ 26.01.18. ‘Plateaux’ is the first single to be taken from the new Uncle Luc record which leans heavily on the British power pop sound of the late 70s. The Surrey born songwriters influences are worn firmly on his sleeve in this colourful return to making music. In 2014 Luc formed Super Fan 99 Records after recording his first solo album. With a definite visual and musical identity in mind and a good understanding of how bedroom labels work having spent years in a band the label was born. In DIY terms things snow balled pretty quickly with all but 5 of the labels 51 releases to date selling out. With artists from New York, LA, London and Philadelphia releasing music on various unique formats such as tape, square and heart shaped vinyl the label has grown a loyal global fanbase. Running a label while holding down a full time job meant that his songwriting took something of a backseat while his energy was spent telling the world about bands he’d discovered, so it was somewhat unexpected that in June last year he picked up his guitar again and began to write. Plateaux is released digitally on 26.01.18 with a full length album following this spring.
