SUMO Geneva SUMO was founded in 1999 in Geneva, Switzerland, by two brothers: Alex (guitar, vocals) and Fred Sumi (bass, production). Since the beginning they have been searching to create an original sound by mixing live instruments with electronic music, inspired by many influences (soul, funk, electro, hip-hop, dub, timba, afro-cuban), and also various types of rythmes. Throughout its discography including six albums released so far, SUMO music keeps evolving by exploring new beats and musical landscapes. In live, the duo turns into a power trio with Ramon Plaza on drums, performing before artists such as Faithless, Jamie Lidell or Gotan Project. SUMO tracks are played on worldwide radio stations (BBC Gilles Peterson Worldwide, Nova) and were published on various compilations along with Laurent Garnier and Moby.
