Mauricio Beltrán Querétaro Mexican composer. His works have been performed in the United States, Spain, the United Kingdom, and Mexico, and some of his commissions include the Alliance Theatre Company (Atlanta), El Repertorio Español (New York), and the Lincoln Center Institute (New York). First prize at the International Competition for String Quartet Composition Nuestra América 2014, first prize at the National Competition Programa de Comisiones de Obra, his orchestral piece Wuk-manik’ was chosen to represent Mexico at the International Rostrum of Composers 2012 (UNESCO), in Stockholm, Sweden. In 1997 Beltrán was appointed lecturer at the Universidad Autonoma de Queretaro.
