Mystic Bird EP by Stringboxes published on 2014-04-04T09:42:56Z Michael and Holly have recorded a 3 track EP which showcases their exciting artistry as live performers. The tracks were recorded in a three hour studio session without overdubbing and were produced by Dominik Johnson, an expert in recording acoustic instruments from around the world. The tracks were mastered by George Atkins, who masterfully added touches of yesteryear by running the recordings through 1980′s Studer tape. The songs all reference the need for a new hope for humanity – birdsong fills our hearts with new hope from Africa in Holly’s song Mystic Bird, the traditional West African song Sori tells the great warrior Samori Toure that the people of Sicasso are saying war is futile; and wealthy men are entreated to be loyal in the popular traditional Malian song Banilay.
