Sterling Maffe Sterling Maffe Los Angeles, CA Sterling Maffe (b. 1996) is an American composer for film and concert music. To date, he has completed over 170 original compositions including both concert pieces, and scores for film. Many professional and amateur ensembles have commissioned his work including the Orlando Philharmonic Orchestra, and the Southern California Brass Consortium. Maffe has commercially released several albums worldwide featuring his original music including two collections of compositions written in the style of a movie soundtrack, “The Frozen King” (2018), and "Legend" (2016). His music has won several national and international awards, including the 2015 National Young Composers Challenge competition and the 2012 NASA International Humans in Space Youth Art competition. At age 20, Maffe was given an internship at the studio of Hans Zimmer, one of the most prolific film composers in the world. Maffe is currently pursuing a Bachelors of Music (BM) in Composition at the Biola Conservatory of Music and plans to obtain his Masters of Music (MM) in Screen Scoring from the University of Southern California.
