The Stereo Mutants are 2 of the UKs leading house music producers and DJs. After launching their assault on dancefloors across the world in 2005 with a release on Defected records, the Mutants have since knocked up a string of successful releases & remixes on labels such as Soulfuric (US), Bubblesoul Music (Spain), Duffnote (UK), Delecto (Can), MOD recordings (NL), Clubstar records (Ger), Justsoul Records (Fr) and many more.
UK born and bred, the Stereo Mutants are Si Gordon & Piers Kirwan, 2 DJ / producers who since the late 80s have slowly moved up and worked their way into the global house music network. The guy's have worked with each other as djs for a good 15 years, both the DJs careers began doing house / warehouse parties in and around the UK during the late 80s and early 90s. In 92 Simon asked Piers to reside alongside him at the now infamous Natural Rhythm nights. During their 9 year club promotion reign they played alongside such luminaries as John Digweed, Claudio Coccoluto, Alex Neri, Danny Rampling, Smokin Jo, Angel Moraes, Xpress 2, Ricky Montanari, Allister Whitehead, Cj Mackintosh and many more.. As well as the club promoting the duo began djing both nationally and internationally at venues like Renaissance (UK), Lakota (UK), The Temple (IRE), Velvet Underground (UK), The Zap (UK), Slinky (UK), The Kase (new Zealand), Spy Room (USA), Cool World (USA), Club 13 (Russia), Cactus Club (USA), House Of Windsor (UK), Zillion (Belgium), The manor (UK), Club 114 (Amsterdam), The Chunnel Club (UK), Impact (malta), Escape (UK) plus countless other european & US venues... When the duo partner up back to back they create a dancefloor fusion of deep soulful, house music, in recent years their sound has taken them backwards and forwards around the globe to Paris, Germany, Indonesia, the USA and further afield..
In late 2007 the guy's launched their own imprint Mutated Music. Now on its 9th release, their fresh take on the house sound has gained support from amongst others, Roger sanchez, DJ Tekin, Grant Nelson, Hardsoul, Copyright, Simon Dunmore, Audiowhores, Juke Joint, Davidson Ospina, Christian Hornbostel and many many more. The label is all about music with soul and passion and has featured releases & remixes from DJ Meme, Danny Clark, 2 Brothers of Soul, Christian Alvarez, and the Mutants themselves.. 2008 / 9 has seen the Mutants locked in the studio remixing like crazy, remixes for Kid Massive & Pepper mashay 'Feel The beat' on Justsoul, No Logo's 'Party Animal' on Subatomic, 2 Brothers of Soul 'Can't Help Myself' on MOD, Dj Dove & Peech Boys 'Don't Make Me wait' on Ospina Digital, Lorna Marshall 'Stand Up' on Whitelotus Club and many more.. The guy's are currently finishing up new singles with Krista, Keith Thompson, Robert Owens, Simon Green and Antonia Lucus, with some other little weapons to accompany them.. They are even writing a debut album as we speak, that will hopefully see the light of day in late 2010.
Take the Mutants off your Stereo and let them loose on your dancefloor!
