Book and lyrics by Shaun McKenna, music by Stephen Keeling. In 2003, John Havu and Walter Hitz approached Stephen and Shaun McKenna with Stefan Mens’s idea of entwining the famous children’s novel Heidi with the story of its creator, Johanna Spyri. The resulting show was premiered in a superb production directed by Stefan Huber and produced by TSW Event AG with an outstanding cast and orchestra in the Summer of 2005, Lake Walenstadt, Switzerland. The show was unanimously critically acclaimed. The cast was led by Sue Mathys as Johanna Spyri, Sabine Schädler-Heidi, Florian Schneider- the Grandfather, Patric Scott-Peter, Kerstin Marie Mäkelburg-Rottenmeier and Alen Hodzovic as Bernhard. The show returned in 2006 and in 2007 was followed by Heidi, Part 2. Musically directed and orchestrated by Stefan Mens. Songs in show order.
