Palm Sunday of the Passion of the Lord Homily for 9:30 a.m. Mass on Sunday, March 24, 2013 by St. Bernard Church published on 2013-03-25T00:20:11Z By Father Paul Henson, O.Carm. "When Jesus proclaims 'My God, my God, why have you abandoned me?' it's really a hopeful despair," Father Paul tells us in his homily for Palm Sunday of the Passion of the Lord. "Because when we suffer, when life is so mean and nasty and treats us so badly, we despair, we don't want to be a part of it. And yet Jesus is the model of 'My God, my God' — hopeful despair. That is to say, Jesus never lost his faith in the middle of his suffering, never lost that trust in his God."
