"Named for the unexpected meteor shower during a nighttime beach walk that inspired the band in 2014, Starcoast is a 3-piece indie rock band from Virginia Beach. After an attempted recording session at a studio, Starcoast decided that their sound could best be captured in their own garage and equipment." - Andrew Westberry, No More Division
We would like to thank each and every person who has ever bought a shirt, CD, or come to any of our shows. Starcoast would not be possible without the support from all of our friends and families. We would like to specifically thank Alex Morton, Mathis Stone, Gresham Frye, Adam Boose, Raytheon Dunn, and all of the neighbors that continue to put up with our loud practices.
Our EP, Peace Of Mind, was recorded at Old Dominion University with the help of Alex Morton and Severin Di Croce. Mixed by Alex Morton and mastered by Adam Boose at Cauliflower Audio.
“It’s like you’re super stoked to be going to the beach but then after the sun sets you just lay on the ground completely overwhelmed with how endlessly expansive the universe is,” said the guys from Starcoast when asked to describe their sound.
Our EP, Evergreen, was self-recorded and mixed in the winter of 2017, with only the help of mastering by Adam Boose at Cauliflower Audio.
In the winter of 2018, we regrouped with Alex Morton in his refinished horse barn studio to record what would become our EP, "Glow". It was again, mixed by Alex Morton and mastered by Adam Boose.
What it means to ‘make it’ in the music business has evolved in recent years, but that’s not necessarily a bad thing.
“It’s all about the creative process and being able to do what we love, writing music, without any external limitations,” said Starcoast. “If we can write a song that we’re happy with then that’s success to us. If people like our music then we’re absolutely grateful, but the bottom line is that we’re happy with what we create ourselves.” - Alt Daily
