2016 | Philippians by Sermons from St. George's published on 2016-03-30T13:51:31Z Philippians is a book about how to have peace and joy in our lives despite difficult circumstances. Paul uses the words “ joy” and “rejoice” more that 16 times in 4 chapters. Everyone I know wants joy and peace, but most of us go about it the wrong way; we go to God believing that once He changes our circumstances, then we’ll be joyful and serve Him. The problem with this approach is that once one set of problems or circumstances are changed, they are simply replaced by the next set. It seems we’ve got things backwards. We are what needs changing! Only then can we experience the peace and joy of God in our lives….a peace and joy that is totally independent of circumstances.
