Fitz currently runs his self-owned and operated Mobile Entertainment business in addition to his role as resident DJ at Euforia Radio, Sushi Axiom, 6th Street, & Sisu Resort in Dallas.
Fitz discovered an interest, or more fittingly, an obsession with music. At 11 years old, he discovered his favorite band Depeche Mode. Thanks to their hypnotic melodies, he fell head over heels in love with music as an art form. Their musical influence lead him to appreciate other bands of a similar genre and immediately, he invested nearly every penny of his childhood allowance to purchase 12-inch vinyl, albums, and cassette tapes.
One year later, he haphazardly noticed two Technics turntables and a Technics mixer in his sister’s best friend’s home. After experimenting with the machinery he was so curious about, he instantly fell in love with the art form of mixing music. This was a skill completely self-taught with self-motivation. Mixing music became an obsessive habit he knew he would never quit.
Like that of a consummate professional, he practiced religiously and relentlessly. To him, it was a divine experience to create unduplicated sessions consisting of Depeche Mode, Erasure, New Order, Orchestral Maneuvers in the Dark, and Pet Shop Boys just to name a few of his favorites.
He took what was innate and shared his skill with the masses. When he was just a 12-year-old boy, he was booked for his first paid gigs performing at his 6th grade school dances. At just 14 years old, he performed at his first wedding reception. With no legal right to be out after city curfew, he was booked for his first live performance at a nightclub at just 16 years old. As an impressionable artist at that age, he discovered and met the legendary Turntablist DJ Qbert in person. Fitz was in awe by his ability to utilize the turntable as a musical instrument. Ever since Fitz can remember, DJ Qbert has singlehandedly been his greatest inspiration pushing him to always improve and perfect his craft.
One year later, Fitz took his skills to the radio airwaves. He had the esteemed honor to perform on-air on Dallas radio stations, Wild 100.3 FM and Power 107 FM. Meaningful moments such as these were defining his early years as a professional DJ.
Fitz is distinctly characterized by over two decades of professional experience, his deeply rooted passion and obsessive love for music, and the self-taught, persevering dedication to his work. He lives, eats and sleeps with music dancing in his head and flowing through his veins. He was fortunate to have nailed the one passion he could commit his life to doing. But more importantly, he is grateful and blessed to do what he loves for a living.
