Metric Thunderstorm by soundpaint

In 1995, I composed and produced this short piece of a thunder storm at the Studio für elektronische Musik at Westhochschule Karlsruhe, Germany. Rather than purely imitating the sounds of a thunder storm, it creates an abstraction in three ways: (1) it uses artificial rhythmic patterns based on a 4/4 meter; (2) the piece was produced solely by tweaking sounds of the standard rhythm set of a TG77 synthesizer; (3) the overall construction of the piece follows a strict symmetrical pattern of layering sound.
