The Soraida Experimental Experience (The S.E.E.) Soraida Montoya Soraida Montoya is a multi-instrumentalist artist from Odessa, Tx. Having been born and raised in the Permian Basin has played many positive roles for this striving female artist. Having nothing else to do in her childhood she dedicated her time to the arts. Also, thanks to having her mother enroll her in her elementary school music program by the young age of six, Soraida has been obsessed and dedicated to playing music and playing what ever musical instruments she could get her hands on. In this school program she was taught how to play piano, steel drums, and voice. Later on through the years she learned how to play violin, viola, cello, bass (double, upright, fretless, 5 and 6 string), guitar, drums, guitalele, and mandolin. Although she can read music and only uses this method to perform classical arrangements she prefers to play by ear and performs from the heart at all times and believes there are NO RULES in music as long as there is passion. Soraida enjoys performing any and all genres of music but her favorites are Rock, Blues, Jazz, Metal, Folk, and Indie. Similar artist that can define Soraida’s sound and musical style are Cat Power, Lou Doillon, U2, The Temper Trap, Pink Floyd, Jesse Y Joy, Bebé, and Aterciopelados.
