”Mightily impressive and hugely original rock from the cool end of Americana" – Maverick Mag, UK. This Hudson Valley band has an exotic instrumental arsenal and songs ranging from dusty Americana ballads to huge Pink Floydesque cinematic anthems.
Formed in Sleepy Hollow, New York over a decade ago, the Slambovians pioneered the now huge Americana genre while staying on the fringes of the music industry. Winning support from indie radio and press from the outset, it is the fans that have fueled their career to international status. Their fiercely independent selves present not only quirky Americana and Zen-like anthems, but a universe entirely of their own making. Likened to an array of artists including the Waterboys, Jethro Tull, The Decemberists, a quirkier Tom Petty with an exotic instrumental arsenal, their "dusty Americana ballads" evoke Dylan, Cracker, or the Wallflowers. The Slambovians charm from the first note - led by visionary songwriter Joziah Longo with the graceful ‘slide’-man Sharkey McEwen (guitar, mandolin), painterly contributions of Tink Lloyd (accordion, cello, etc), and exotic flair of Felipe Torres (drums, percussion). This is a band that connects with the audience on a tribal level… absolutely ‘Slambovian’.
