skylightband Skylight Johannesburg Skylight was born in the summer of 2009 when three like-minded muso’s joined forces after performing together at an event in late 2008. The chemistry was instantaneous and the friendships that grew from it laid down the foundation that makes Skylight the successful band it is today. Greg Jorden (vocals and guitar), Peter Klein (bass) and Bradley Cumming (drums), immediately began establishing a loyal fan base in and around Johannesburg. In 2010 the band entered the SA’s Got Talent reality competition and saw a highly commended rise to Top 20 before being outnumbered by various talents in the show. A sincere comment from Randall Abrahams stated that Greg Jorden had one of the best voices he had heard in a long time. Their song ‘Always Enough’ became an instant hit and it wasn’t long before the track would secure them a spot on the Joburg day line-up later that year. Bassist Peter Klein notes that “Performing in front of 18 000 people was an incredible experience.” Despite the current state of our world, Skylight are still crazy enough to believe that things can change for the better and their music represents exactly that. In 2011 the band entered the studio with Grammy Award and SAMA Award Winning producer Darryl Torr to record their full length debut album. It was here that they met guitarist Wesley Ayliffe and Skylight became the four piece they are better known for today. The album is set for a tentative release in early July and already proves to be nothing other than awe-inspiring. “It's time to fight for the things we believe in and be bold enough to actually live it out” says Greg Jorden. skylightband’s tracks More Than Ever by skylightband published on 2014-04-04T09:07:30Z Skylight Interview on Kingfisher FM by skylightband published on 2014-02-17T13:42:07Z Smile by skylightband published on 2014-01-15T08:44:12Z Born To Love You by skylightband published on 2013-11-27T13:38:01Z Give It Up by skylightband published on 2013-05-02T07:22:14Z
