At the start Simple Technique set up the Heavy Signal collective. Which started as a simple rig in a van going from house party to house party. But within a year had club nights across London, bringing DJ’s from the other side of the planet, working with, ShockOne, Commix, Culture Shock, Break, DLR, Original Sin and went on to colab with Shindig Events in putting on a 20,000 NYE rave. After this short stent in events promotion ST left and Heavy Signal went on to put stages on in European festivals and to help push a lot of the new roster of artists in the scene today, including, Kyrist, GLXY, Lifestyle records, Soul:vent records and Flexout Audio.
After that things moved quickly, somehow landing himself in a studio with Xtrah, Nightshift and dirty house producers Jaded. Simple Technique quickly honed his craft dropping “Cold Steppin” later that year, which was stated as DLR’s tune of the year, this changed everything for ST. Soon after it was remixed by Ulterior Motive who were fresh off producing Goldies album and ended up beating Skrillex and Diplo’s recently released Jack U album on the beatport charts.
DJ’ing across the UK and reaching into Europe, packing out stages at Boomtown, Simple Technique has gone toe to toe with some of the best dj’s and MC’s in the dnb scene, Goldie, Break, Ed Rush, Mefjus, Culprate, DLR, Inside Info, Xtrah, and has even been hosted by legends Visionobi, Code Breaker, Sense MC, DRS and SP:MC
That’s when everything went quiet… But after three years Simple Technique is back. Dropping a huge 8 track EP on Cyberfunk.
Covering a huge and diverse range of sounds and converging inspirations. Super Future received 8/10 from Mixmag with songs Steeze and I am Doom being called “triplet masterpieces”. Making it on to 4 separate genre charts on Beatport. Even breaking the top five in Leftfield Bass and Trap… and that was just the start, later making it on to the DNB charts and House charts.
And that brings us to now, where Simple Technique has just finished his next EP for Cyberfunk out this summer
