simonmiles Simon Miles Manchester These songs are live recordings of my piano playing and improvisation, over audio collage of various samples, loops and found sounds. I play a Yamaha P-95 stage piano, and everything else is being co-ordinated through Ableton Live and an APC20 controller. These pieces are intended as a kind of musical diary as I explore the possibilities of this approach, rather than as a set of perfectly polished finished works. If I had to describe the effect I am looking for here, I guess it might lie somewhere within a rough triangle between The Avalanches, Rip Rig + Panic and the Beastie Boys album "The In Sound from Way Out".
