Born in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan, I now live in Savannah, Georgia, with my remarkable and understanding wife Sarah and my sons Finn and Talon, who constantly astonish me. I make films such as the award-winning shorts THE STREET CLEANER and YOU ARE BEAUTIFUL. I write, direct, produce, manage, edit, and handle locations for film and television, including the Style Network's Emmy-nominated series RUBY, Tyler Perry's THE HAVE AND THE HAVE NOTS, and five feature-length movies this past two years (CRACKERJACK, UNTOUCHED, BREAKING AT THE EDGE, ENCHANTED AMORE/FOUR SENSES, and ABRAHAM LINCOLN vs ZOMBIES). Telling important stories, by nurturing an idea from concept to completed vision, is what I am passionate about. I also write fiction and poetry, make music, and photograph artistic nudes.
"Hold together, Jack, pass through everything, and everything is one dream, one appearance, one flash, one sad eye, one crystal lucid mystery, one word--Hold still, man, regain your love of life and go down from this mountain and simply be--be--be the infinite fertilities of the one mind of infinity, make no comments, complaints, criticisms, appraisals, avowals, sayings, shootings stars of thought, just flow, flow, be you all, be you what it is, it is only what it always is--Hope is a word like a snow-drift--This is the Great Knowing, this is the Awakening, this is Voidness--So shut up, live, travel, adventure, bless and don't be sorry. You have been forever, and will be forever, and all the worrisome smashings of your foot on innocent cupboard doors was only the God-being pretending to be a man pretending not to know the God-being."
