Shun is part of the new school of electronic producers emerging from the Tokyo scene. A DJ for over 10 years he has acquired an eclectic vision of dance music taking influences from Chicago, Detroit, Acid, Electro, EBM and Italo Disco along the way and played for radio stations including: Radar Radio, Rinse France, FM4(Austria) and Block.fm(Japan).
His passion was formed from visiting clubs such as Womb, Warehouse, Yellow, Contact and Circus being inspired by the likes of Arnaud Rebotini, Dave Clarke, DJ Hell, Drexciya, Erol Alkan, The Hacker, Laurent Garnier, Silent Servant, Trevor Jackson and Underground Resistance.
Whilst relatively new to production the last couple of years have seen him releasing three EPs on both domestic and international labels. Shun's production sound has embraced techno, electro and acid.
Shun's Amplifier EP on Osaka’s DPRB Records, came to the attention of French Techno/Electro pioneer Arnaud Rebotini who has signed Shun to his Black Strobe imprint to release the Steel Garage EP. Support for the E.P has been worldwide including: Laurent Garnier, Maceo Plex, Catz ’n Dogs, Ricardo Miranda, Mystic Bill, Kristian (Ame), Alexander Robotic, Jamie Jones, Terry Grant, Seven Davis Jr to energetic EBM producers like The Sixteen Steps(Minimal Wave) and Gamma Intel (brokntoys).
The future is looking very bright for Shun with blistering acid remixes completed for the likes of Dark Circles and Marlon Hoffstadt and a forthcoming release on Black Strobe set to propel Shun's sound a lot further around the globe and realms of dance music.
