SHUGSLINE Sweet Corey-Bey Hyattsville Shugsline is a moniker of Black brilliant, Gender-Variant, Bassist, Band Leader, Composer, Producer, Poet-Extraordinaire Sweet Corey-Bey. A Native of Gorgeous Prince George’s County, their music is a soulful blend of jazz, R&B and funk. Perhaps best known for their work with funk-soul outfit Black Folks Don’t Swim? their works have been featured in the Hirshorn Museum, Makers Lab Blk in Space, Slut Island Festival 2020 and more. Across disciplines, their work explores art as a tool for liberation at the site of the Black Queer body.
