Aging Music by Shira Dentz published on 2020-01-29T23:22:47Z “Aging Music” was taken from a performance of my Environmental Dialogue that took place with players from the Conservatorio di Musica Benedetto Marcello Venezia on February 6, 2015, during a wind storm with twenty players from the Conservatorio and the Venice Ca’ Foscari University. Players were mixed jazz, classical instrumentalists and singers plus a young girl of eleven years playing toy piano under the direction of Paolo Zavagna of the Conservatorio and Universit. Ca’ Foscari under the direction of Daniele Goldoni. The beautiful old building that houses the Conservatorio became activated by the wind and the banging doors and windows became an engaging percussive part of the musical dialogue. The building as an instrument played by the wind seemed expressive too of aging.”—Pauline Oliveros, 2015 “Aging Music” was taken from a live performance in 2015 of an Environmental Dialogue by Pauline Oliveros, Anthology of Text Scores (˝ Deep Listening Publications, 2013.
