Time Management- Percussion Trio by Shawncrouch published on 2016-01-29T20:19:30Z Time Management for three percussionists is an exploration of the flow of time and the expectation of form. The work opens with developmental material that traditionally might be heard at the end of a composition. It is as if the listener is being dropped into the middle of a performance that has already begun. As the work progresses, expositionary material traditionaly heard at the beginning is instead heard at the end of the first movement. The second movement is a series of canons that slowly come together by the end of the work. Throughout the composition the flow of time is in regular flux with metric modulations pushing the pace forward and slowing it down.
