As he tells it, you either became part of a gang or you found a way out through sports. Jason's first choice was to get involved with sports. In his neighborhood there was a place called Shorefront that had a gymnasium where the local kids all congregated to play basketball. One of the employees of Shorefront used to leave the side door open for kids that didn't have the money to pay to use the facility. Outside looking in, this person was helping the less fortunate kids in the neighborhood. However, there was something far more sinister at play and this "helpful benefactor" was actually farming kids to feed to a local predator. In the neighborhood, he was known by the kids as the Boogieman of Brighton Beach. He was a child predator...
