MARWAN EL SWAISY
Marwan Ahmed El Swaisy (aka Sewwes) is an internationally acclaimed Composer, Producer, Sound Engineer, and dj.
Sewwes started making beats and djying in the noughties after a long journey and love affair with music.
From an early age he listened to many different genres, and his taste for variety and sound influences grew organically. He attributes his varied taste, which ranges from The Doors to 2pac, with lots in between, too being the key ingredients to his fresh, unique, and open minded experimental style. The result, creating an internationally acclaimed sound, that has a distinct deep base feel.
2006 saw a new direction for Sewwes, and was a momentus turning point in his career. Not only was it the year that his creative collaboration exploded with the renowned Hans Tavera, but it was the beginning of his journey with the progressive tribal scene. And a turning point in his already colorful career with the hosting of his critically acclaimed radio show 'Pharaohs used to Rave' on Tribal Mixes.
It didn't take long before it had a loyal, international, underground following, and pathed the way for successive collaborations with the likes of; Parham, Jody Wisternoff, Jeff Belfi, Tarkan to name a few.
This established Sewwes as one of the most respected, and sought after DJ and producers in the Middle East.
Continuous gigs quickly followed around Egypt, Europe and the Middle East, as Sewwes shared the decks with names like: Snake, Dom Kane, Jay Lumen, Sedrick and others.
His music was becoming more defined as he carved a name for himself as an innovator of fresh sounds and styles mixing a vibrant cocktail of Minimal Tech, Techno and progressive. Always maintaining his trademark of experimental and tribal routes, resulting in guest appearances on the international radio circuit.
Returning to his roots, and deciding to be permanently based in Egypt, Sewwes entered into a life changing partnership with the widely acclaimed London/Egyptian DJ Aslam. This quickly lead to the opening of the highly successful 'Purple Edge Records', and the tracks flowed with the support of globally respected artists such as: John Tonx, Hans Tavera and Chloe Harris.
In 2009 Sewwes travelled to Germany where he focused on European collaborations, fusing the sounds of East and West and gathering new material and artists to sign to his record label.
2010 is highly anticipated by Sewwes followers and fans as the year for his double release albums 'Sewwes – Arts of Parts' and 'Sewwes – Soulariom Eps'.
