It's true people will go and see the remakes because of the recognisable faces and themes, but historically scary movies have a terrible grasp on what actually makes for frightening cinema. I'd say films like Paranormal Activity worked so well because they identified what was the threat, in that case a spooky ghostdemon, and focused on how to make that disquieting. Even the (admittedly flawed) It Follows movie managed very well to find a premise that can creep people the F out and played to its strengths. My first concern with Sequelising this would be.... how do we make a silent man in the woods scary? What are the best tricks we can do involving a stranger in dark, unfamiliar places? How can we milk the setting of unchaperoned wilderness to get under peoples skin? Writing horror isn't actually that difficult ... writing it for cinema however, poses new challenges! 2019-08-21T16:53:25Z Comment by Simon Oliver Payzant Sounds like y'all watched some After Hours. 2019-08-21T06:54:18Z
