Raised in a musical enviroment, I bought my first vinyl on my 7th birthday, Duran Duran's first lp & a few months later I attended a Talking Heads/Tom Tom Club live concert & that is how the story begins.
I always remember myself playing with my vinyls & cassettes @ school parties, and listening 2 dance/ black music shows on the VOA Radio Station, spending many hours and most of my money @ record stores.
And been a dancefloor guy, building friendships linked to The MUSIC that are still strong.
My presence @ the local club scene goes back at the early 90’s, when as a teenager I was a resident dj @ the notorious Club Decadence. My main influences at that time were soul, new wave, funk, acid jazz, Madchester grooves & Garage House.
The musical turning point in my life came with my exposure to the sessions of DJ Mike @ Factory Club & right at that time, joining the Jungle & Magna Parties.
Touched also by Vasquez's, Morales', Vegas', Regisford's & Humphries' Sessions & The Soul II Soul, Blaze, MAW, Def Mix & Nu Groove Sounds.
Ever since, I have been djing @ various underground events even though my priority were my studies & social/political activity.
During the mid 00's, as a member of Bomba Energia Soundsystem, I got the opportunity to introduce my favorite deep, soulful & mental percussive sounds 2 an otherwise rare groove audience. While landing a radio show w/ Anthony Catelanos & Rusty Brown @ VM Radio.
In 2008, after being a regular @ the 'Breathe Deep Athens’ parties since the very beginning, I was offered the most unexpected proposal, to become a resident dj for them.
This party was packed & rocking every Saturday @ Buzz, already a myth for the underground scene.
Feeling grateful for this music journey w/ DJ Akylla & all the lovers.
In 2013, I formed with my main man & woman Angelheart & Kalia P the @soul_asylum party.
Been the manager, music director & resident dj of it, till the huge event @ Empros Theater. With the Godess Monique Bingham, many musicians & djs & almost 2000 attendants.
In this party I warmed up the space w/ DJ Espeekay & introduced 2 the party people some of the upcoming djs of the Soul Asylum.
My new project is the AΦRODISIAK party where I have the honor & pleasure 2 be the resident dj among Le Maestro Franck Roger.
It's mainly a private party, with membership & certain rules. Moving more into deep, raw, funky & sexy zones. Some of the events will be open, but our main purpose is to keep this party for its members.
Always believer to the Underground Spirit, that taught as by our real Pioneers, David Mancuso, Francois K, the Paradise Garage & the Shelter NYC Parties & all the followers.
I also had the pleasure of sharing decks w/ djs & producers like Quentin Harris, Black Coffee, Culoe De Song, Zepherin Saint, Manoo & many local ones.
And also cooperate w/ artists like Makis Papadimitratos, Manos Chrisovergis, Venediktos Adipas, Vangelis Alexandris E-MOV, Michael Moses & MC Bredda Ahmed.
Have also been honoured 2 have residencies or gigs in spaces like the basement of P.Ioaceim (now NID), Barrage, Surf Salad @ Costa Navarino, The Apartment, Tango, Faust, Mikro (Laodikis), Beau Rivage/Catamaran &Bikini Patra, Skull Bar, Katavothres, Mamacas, Casa Playa, Messiah, Senza, Higgs, or rooms from music/party lovers like Amylo, Azor, Playback etc.
And of course Loft-kind parties with/for friends.
I'm also a curator @ RadioDoc, which was in the top 20 of the MixCloud worldwide for 2014 & was also behind the Soul Asylum show @ Smoothtraxx Radio, with my own sessions & guests many of the djs mentioned above & US djs & producers like Stan Zeff & Vick Lavender.
Ι'm a Dj, not a producer, I haven't studied music. But I love providing marathon sessions, with live re-editing, re-mixing, mash -uping, blending fresh & new tunes & making stories with them. Every time & another story.
I'm a House Music Lover, but can't keep my tastes & tunes squared. Trying 2 keep the Old School Spirit with the Hi Tech way.
