Footprints by Uwe Fischer Music published on 2012-03-25T06:48:02Z This song feels like a puzzle to me. I wrote and recorded it around 1997 and put it on my (yet unpublished) album "Sneak Preview". Originally it was a pop song trying to capture the composing style of the Beach Boys' Brian Wilson around 1966. But honestly I wasn't really satisfied with the sound which was quite flat and muffled so I re-recorded the song in 2009. This time the sound was clear but somehow the feeling of the original recording had gone - everything sounded a bit stiff. Last week I started to do a hybrid version with the best tracks of both versions, but still it didn't work well. So I ended up with recording new track to replace some of the old ones, and so this latest version contains piano and flutes from 1997 and drums from 2009, whereas all the other instruments (fretless bass, melodica, harpsichord, toy bells, brass, moog synthesizer) date from 2012. The renamed title of this song is "Footprints" simply because it gave me a good reason to use my eponymous painting for the art work :) Genre Waltz
