Sed Contra Ensemble Sed Contra Ensemble Kyiv Sed Contra Ensemble was founded in 2013 by a group of young composers (Sergiy Vilka, Vitaliy Kyianytsia, Andriy Merkhel) from Kyiv, Ukraine. Musicians of Ensemble are postgraduate students from Tchaikovsky National Musical Academy of Ukraine. The priority objective of Ensemble is performing chamber music from the begining of XX century till nowadays, music of young composers, projects of electroacoustic and improvisational music, interdisciplinary projects. Sed Contra Ensemble is a permanent participant of major festivals in Ukraine, such as: "GogolFest", "Kyiv Music Fest", "Kyiv Contemporary Music Days", "Two days and two nights of New Music", "Lviv Hindemith Fest", "Donkult", "Musical season premieres", "FreeFest". Group participated in international projects "The interaction of dance and music" and "EM-Visia" as well as in "Alliance 22" and "Sonor Continuus" projects. Ensemble works with foreign composers and musicians. Sed Contra Ensemble has actualized around 20 projects of different type and character. From 2015 Sed Contra collaborates with "Pechersk New Theatre" in Kyiv and actively implements interdisciplinary projects with leading artists of young age. Among common projects with theatre the most important are performance "Hesse. Parables" and Laboratory of Music and Theatre "Sound.Voice.Silence".
