Now, undoubtedly, the people who were neither appointed as the messengers of Allah nor sent by His Messenger cannot be regarded as the messengers of Allah by any interpretation even if they might have travelled for the purpose of preaching on their own account. In fact, according to the Bible, Antioch was the first city where the non-Israelites embraced Christianity in large numbers and where the Christian faith met with great success; whereas the habitation mentioned in the Quran was some such habitation which rejected the invitation of the messengers, and was consequently afflicted with a divine punishment. History does not bear any evidence that Antioch was ever destroyed, which might be considered, as the result of denying the Messengership. (Surah Yaseen)
With regard to the idea that the Almighty Allah sent His Messengers in different lands to invite people to His religion, we must state that it is not clear from the Quranic text-whether all those who were invited to Islam by Allah’s messengers or the Almighty Allah appeared at the same time, or what part, if any, the inimical unbelievers or opponents played in acting against the announcements of the Messengers of Allah. But if we consider the facts, it is most likely that all such announcements were made to the same nations at the same time, either because Allah wished to invite mankind to Islam at the same time, or because it was impossible for Allah to send each of the Messengers separately to different nations and kingdoms. I do not know of any reason, be it effect or cause, why Allah should have sent His Messengers all together at once to invite people to Islam in three different lands. As indicated by the Bible, when the Muslim nation’s forefathers left Makkah and immigrated to Madinah, they were but few in numbers, and only eleven men among those who braved death and travelled in the night to escape the wrath of the Meccans. If they were invited to Islam at one moment, this invitation would have been heard in all of those countries. Yet only the Prophet Muhammad, his children and his close companions were permitted to communicate it to the whole of mankind. If the ability to communicate with the whole of mankind had been granted to all of those who were invited to Islam, surely such a possibility would have been impossible for the promisers Allâh and his Messengers to turn into a reality (surah al-Anfal, verse 8). If they spoke of the prohibition of idolatry, the offering of sacrifices, the preparation of special prayers and the other ten commandments that are mentioned in the Bible, it is very possible that every individual idolater present at that time would have heard his message. Yet, when all such people were told to associate none but Allah with His messenger, how many of the people there turned their ears out of their ears? In contrast, if they spoke of the victory that would be achieved over the infidels and those who worshiped the Devil, it is very likely that many of them would have gone out to greet them. a3f8a02ae1
