Samuel Wexler strives to share all that is real and pure. Whether it take the form of music, words, motion or art, Samuel creates from the soul. He aims to allow every moment, every action, every breath to be an expression of truth, freedom and love. Accepting that we do not really know who we are or where we come from, Samuel delights in the constant discovery of the true self. He feels honored to play part in the legacies of the violin, human music, and human transformation. To Samuel, music is a means of communication deeper than verbal language, with incredible power to heal. It is a means of expressing that which is real within the ever-present now. Music has the power to make manifest that which is just beyond the veil of our perception. Samuel sees the healing of the world as the natural result of true deep seeing, anchored in this present moment, and accepts that nothing is of greater importance.
Samuel has been studying violin since the age of 9 years old. He started in the classical tradition and started playing fiddle music and percussion in Middle School. After taking a year off of the violin in 9th grade to explore percussion and wrestling, Samuel's passion for violin was reignited Summer 2004 after seeing Itzhak Perlman in concert. This new passion inspired him to devote himself to violin practice through high school and then major in music at CSU. Freshman year of college, he began jamming acoustic covers with friends in the dorm, and has continued to do more and more improvisation ever since that point. He started performing live violin with electronic music November 6, 2009 and enjoys performing with new artists, of various genres, continuously. Classical music is forever a bedrock for both technique and inspiration in Samuel's life. He graduated from CSU with honors in 2012, earning a Bachelor of Music- Violin Performance, and continues to delight in the practice of classical violin repertoire. Samuel is an aspiring multi-instrumentalist, and is currently recording a solo project with violin, viola, mandolin, guitar, ukulele, keyboard, percussion and voice. All live collaborations are almost exclusively improvised, which is an exciting opportunity, as a classically trained musician, to let go a bit and just see what happens :) Samuel has begun playing at transformational festivals, ready to play music whenever inspiration hits, and is joyful to continue seeing how his expression unfolds.
*I personally want to thank every artist who has given up partial control of their music to allow me to improvise with them, either discussed previously or entirely on the fly. Your flexibility, love and sharing spirit allows me to thrive, and I wouldn't be doing what I am today without you. Thank you infinitely ♥
