Samantha Cooper Samantha (Sam) Cooper KALAMAZOO Samantha Cooper’s voice is a gentle force. Her songs speak for their sound; from contemplative respites to incisive PSA’s. A veteran session musician, Sam’s voice and violin appear on a wide range of midwestern albums. Her Great Grandpa Orlie was a dance fiddler like she is now. Her father is a jazz musician, and her Oma & Opa were her favorite singers. Sam is a white, bi+ musician living on unceded Anishinaabe territory (MI). She’s also one of over 900 defendants in the stop line 3 struggle.
