Matheson, The Age of Air (for Two Shakuhachi and Chamber Orchestra) by ROCOreplay published on 2016-02-10T01:17:10Z East meets West in “Pacific Crossings” as conductor Edwin Outwater leads ROCO in a Kyo-Shin-An Arts and ROCO co-commissioned world premiere by James Matheson (making his ROCO debut). Matheson’s Concerto for Two Shakuhachi – The Age of Air is played by ROCO debuting artists, James Nyoraku Schlefer and Akihito Obama. Vivian Fung’s Pizzicato, Sibelius' 3rd Symphony, and Anthony DiLorenzo's Side by Cylon round out the program. The Matheson was funded in part by The Albert and Ethel Herzstein Foundation, Japan Foundation New York, and the Wortham Foundation.
