Minneapolis, Minn. (July 16, 2016) -- Rock the Cause Records, a nonprofit record label, and Wayfarer Entertainment, a media company focusing on social consciousness, are excited to announce the inspirational story of Kendrick Evans.
Evans, a 24-year-old singer from Tallahassee, Fla, was given 3 years to live after being diagnosed with a rare form of sleep apnea. Evans immediately set out to share a musical message of love and hope with the world. With the help of filmmaker Justin Baldoni of Wayfarer Entertainment, Kendrick Evans met one of his life-long heroes, six-time Grammy-winning gospel artist BeBe Winans. As a result of the meeting, Evans and Winans recorded and filmed an emotionally charged duet of the Maggie Ingram classic ‘I Talked It Over.’ Evans story will premiere as part of a three night a television special “My Last Days” Season 2, set to air on the CW August 17 - 19, 2016 9/8 PM CT.
Simultaneously, Rock the Cause Records will release the single worldwide through iTunes, Google Play, Amazon, and others. Kendrick Evans and BeBe Winans are generously donating a portion of the proceeds to the Boys and Girls Club of Tallahassee, Fla., as administrated by Rock the Cause a 501c3.
“‘I Talked It Over’ promises to become one of the year’s most celebrated gospel singles. Be prepared to be inspired and touched by Kendrick’s remarkable determination and powerful music,” says Scott Herold, President and CEO, Rock the Cause Records. “I am delighted to once again work with Wayfarer Entertainment to bring attention to yet another incredibly talented and deserving artist while impacting a charitable cause.”
Four years ago, Rock the Cause Records and Wayfarer Entertainment joined forces to catapult Zach Sobiech’s ‘Clouds’ to the top of the iTunes and Billboard charts. Sobiech was featured on the first season of “My Last Days”, becoming one of the most viewed web based documentaries of all time.
“My Last Days” will be hosted by Justin Baldoni, a filmmaker and actor who is also the star of the Emmy-winning American Telenovela Jane the Virgin. Baldoni is also the creator of the “My Last Days” series.
