Robin Trill is a proud product of the Canadian Hip Hop scene, Reppin Area code 306 of Regina, Saskatchewan. He originally started out behind the decks as a DJ, you could find him slanging his mix-tapes & merch around Regina as DJ Strapt. Growing up loving the southern sounds of gangster rap, it was hard to find his place in the Canadian hip hop scene, where most rappers were on some type of mainstream hip hop style of rap music. Influenced by southern rappers like Pimp C of U.G.K., E-40, Too $hort, Mac Dre, B.G. of Cash Money, and Z-Ro. Robin Trill possesses a different style of Rap music then most of his Canadian Hip hop peers around him, mixing trap sounds, with country rap music, fused with R&B. Part of Trill’s success is owed to his producer / life-long friend SUEDE, Robin Trill and Suede have been best friends since the 4th grade and make a great one-two punch on tracks together. Suede is a well-known and budding producer out of Regina, Saskatchewan that has worked with big names like Andre Nickatina, Project Pat, Mookie Jones, and Pimpton.
2013 Stepping up his game : Taking his love of Hip Hop music from behind the decks, to pen-n-paper & studio mics. Trill picked up the mic in 2013 and has never looked back, writing his first few tracks, hooking up with good friend, the late DJ Fresh who would give Trill his first opportunity opening for French Montana.
2014 the start : His first major collaboration in a remake of Playa G’s 1996 release entitled “Drink a Yak.” Trill links up with Memphis-based Platinum recording artist Project Pat . The track was an instant hit, being featured on CanadaHipHop.com.
2015 was bigger: Hustling hard and hitting the studio, Trill gets on tracks with Gimisum CEO Kingpin Skinny Pimp (Memphis, TN), Big Pokey Of Screwed Up Click (Houston, TX), Willie D of the Geto Boyz (Houston, TX), & Scotty ATL (Atlanta, GA) Trill was beginning to find his signature style and sound.
2016: Trill was making moves, In December 2016, Robin Trill was featured twice on Memphis Underground Rap legend…Kingpin Skinny Pimp newest mix-tape "Sumthin For Tha Streetz” Official CD release. Watch out for featured tracks ”Fact” Ft. Robin Trill & “ Im Never Trusting U Ft Robin Trill & Project Pat”. This was a Huge milestone for Trill, and something to build off of.
Knowing 2017 is going to be MASSIVE, Robin Trill is back in the studio working hard on new music, now under new management, and with a fresh new marketing team on his side, Trill is on the come up in the rap game, and is blazing a path to his own success, literally.
