Roach-Rampino Roach Rampino S.E. London I am Roach-Rampino from Croydon. My intro to house music was seeing my brothers going to the early acid raves of '88/'89. They would bring me flyers and get me mixtapes and introduced me and my pals into the radio stations of the time (Centreforce, Kiss, Sunrise etc). They took me to Spice at Linford Film studios when I was 16 and I got a real taste for raving and the music. I was into the hardcore scene (before it turned into happy h/core) being a regular at The Orange nights (Rocket, Camden Palais, Hippodrome), Labyrinth etc and also the bigger events like Raindance, Fantazia, World Dance etc . My first boys holiday was to Ibiza in 1993. As time went on I veered towards the drum&bass/jungle scene as so many of my pals were playing out and on a few radio stations too. I carried on raving until I was about 22 when unfortunately I slipped into a mainstream clubbing lifestyle. I have always kept every mixtape and cd from the beginning (mostly transferred to mp3 now) and will make sure my kids grow up knowing what a powerful movement the dance scene has been. I have totally rediscovered a love of house music thanks to Select UK Radio. Thanks to the net I've been able to learn, explore and enjoy material and mixes from some very talented dj's and producers. If you got this far, thanks for reading.
