Silly Boy by Rick Alan Rice published on 2021-02-22T11:58:10Z I keep uploading different mixes of this song. “Silly Boy” is the fifth track on the Marble Ball soundtrack. By now our main character has matured to middle school age, and “Silly Boy” finds him in the midst of his first “crush”. That reference may be dated, and may not even be used anymore, but it works for me because part of what I have been trying to do with these tracks is to write tunes representative of the main character’s age as he goes through life – and since the “musical” spans a full life you have to count back in time to get to a guy’s middle school years, so I figure that puts you somewhere in the early Rock’n Roll years, when that genre was still heavily influenced by country music. This is a fairly well-developed sketch, with me doing everything (including all the engineering missteps), helped by the TTS chorus voices and Session Drummer’s audio samples. The vocals are single-take reference vocals to be replaced in a final draft. The challenge with them is to somehow present in a way that might make a listener accept that these are the thoughts of a 12-year old. Thanks for listening. MORE at www.RARWRITER.com Genre Pop
