This song was inspired by a reading "The Sellout", the award-winning novel by Paul Beatty, which is one of the funniest and most insightful books I have ever come across - a masterpiece of satire. It has next to nothing to do with this song other than that it inspired me to write and record this vamp about a bunch of hard-luck cases and street hustlers riding that doom cruiser across the river Styx.
